JANUARI 2024

2024 A Great Start For Sarawak

KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg gave the impression that 2024 will be a great start for Sarawak.

According to him, thanks to the efforts of the Sarawak Government which always focuses and focuses on the responsibilities assumed, the state’s economy is always stable and income is increasing.

“We in Sarawak, we only concentrate and we focus. Thanks to our focus, our economy is strong and our income increases.

“In either January or February, you will hear good news. I don’t want to say it first. Just wait. Right now, we just have to focus on our efforts,” he said in a press conference held in conjunction with his visit to Dataran Ibu Pertiwi here on Monday.

Answering a media question asking if Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) still supports the leadership of the Unity Government, the Sarawak Premier said he only focuses on the stability of the Malaysian government.

“What is important now is the stability of the Malaysian government. We compete (in strengthening the economy) with our other neighboring friends. If our country is in chaos, who will bring money to Malaysia?

“If investment does not come in, there will be less job opportunities and the victims are the people. What are the leaders fighting for?” he said.

Touching on the ‘Dubai step’, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Zohari admitted his surprise to be linked to the secret movement.

“I wonder, why is my name included in the Dubai Initiative, supposedly to become Prime Minister? Is it appropriate?

“We are aware of our position, we ‘lihat sukatan baju kita sendiri’. We use this measurement, this measurement is enough. GPS is only 23 (Parliament seats), later when we go up (as Prime Minister) we will definitely be bashed from below. We are not ‘paloi’,” he emphasised again.

Also participating in the visit were the two Deputy Premiers of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Sarawak Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Sarawak Deputy Ministers, Sarawak Attorney General Datu Saferi Ali, Kuching North Mayor Hilmy Othman and other dignitaries. – UKASnews
